truckin up to buffalo
Nice venue and shakedown was cool, love fall shows, just something about it! There was quite a bit of chatter after the show that the band was tired from the run but I didn't really notice. I will say it sounds better on archive than I remember it, maybe just one of those things about being a critic. Not Kadlecik's best show, Weir bailed him out more than once. Johny B Goode was slightly an embarrassment, being rushed and cut way short to make curfew. Terrapin Suite was great!! And of course had to play Truckin for the "truckin up to Buffalo" line - just about everyone called that one.
Being an east coast guy I'm looking forward to going to the Beacon Theatre for 4/9/12 - 4/18/12 (8 shows).

Thank You FURTHUR
This band gets better everytime I see them... The venue was managed well by the fuzz, with a hands off approach. The scene on Shakedown was fantastic, and the psychedelics were abundant and the cannabis of the highest grade. Once inside the arena the ushers were friendly and, with a few exceptions, moving around from the floor to the upper tiers was easy. The Johns were clean and touch free :D
The band was a tight, well maintained, gleaming engine, roaring thru a short but excellent 1st set due to the triple threat opener of Music Never Stopped, Alabama Getaway>Greatest Story... What did it for me was an amazing Mission in the Rain and an extra treat, the re-tooled skat styled Hard To Handle, which is delivered with a smooth new funkiness, which I find refreshing. Bobby really gets down and has fun with the Pigpen classic! What can I say about the second set but Whoa! It just kept going and going until, they got to the encore, Johnny B. Goode, where they had to abbreviate it to avoid going over the curfew.
I heared that Sunshine and Jeff (Back up singers) were tired from the consecutive run of shows, but they didnt sound like it at all. Sunshine and Jeff were dynamite, raising the bar for each song sung. Sunshine was typically wonderful to her fans by strolling thru the Lot and hitting up her vendors (notably Danzinbear)on Shakedown before the show. Now what other band the caliber of Furthur, shows that kinda love to their fans?
The kind vibes at this show were overflowing and the band played their butts off !
Its hard to imagine having to ever live without the magic this type of music brings ;)

Sounds real good Lenny, thanks for sharing. I was definitely in the right frame of mind on Sunday night and they played a perfect setlist for me. I didn't have any trouble with anyone but i didn't really walk around much when i was inside. Everyone around me was sitting through which I thought was odd.
